Do interior painting, exterior painting, and cabinet refinishing need separate pages?

Industry guides · 3 min read ·

Quick answer

The useful version

Use separate pages when surface, preparation, proof, or project decisions differ enough to help the customer. Keep overlapping work together if the business cannot provide distinct information for each page.

Compare the customer’s project

Interior work, exterior work, and cabinet refinishing can raise different questions about preparation, access, surfaces, and disruption. Ask the estimator which decisions change by service and what customers regularly need to know before booking.

Do not assume a page is necessary because a service can be phrased as a search term. The page should explain confirmed company scope and use evidence that belongs to that service.

Build separate pages only where the detail changes

A useful page can explain preparation expectations, the estimate path, project examples, and the surfaces or work the business accepts. If two services share the same process and proof, a single page with clear sections may be easier to maintain.

Make it clear that scope and price depend on the actual project when that is the estimator’s practice. Avoid unsupported claims about timelines, coatings, durability, or cost savings.

  1. Ask which project decisions change by surface or service.
  2. Match each page to service-specific proof and estimate questions.
  3. Combine pages that would otherwise repeat the same message.

Use the main painting page to route visitors to separate service details. Link a cabinet page to interior work when that relationship helps customers, but write the explanation for its own question rather than duplicating a block of text.

Review each proposed page side by side. If you could swap the service name and keep the same examples and advice, the pages likely need more distinct evidence or should be combined.

The challenge

A paint-company site can either bury distinct work in a generic services list or publish near-identical pages for every room and surface.

The practical move

Compare what the estimator needs to explain and which completed examples support each service, then build only pages that add real guidance.
